When The Coffee Spills

We’ve all had days like this:

Not long after waking up, the coffee has been spilled…

Then you slam that one pinky toe (that you swear is magnetic) into the coffee table. Then you remember that one shirt you need to wear today is actually a little too familiar with the other soggy clothes in the dryer you didn’t close the door to. After some other things slightly awry, like that glob of toothpaste your kid somehow has on his eyebrow or the other that seems to have forgotten how socks go on her feet, you get in the car.

Ten minutes late.

And oh dang, looks like you have a flat tire.

There are two options here.

First, you could really put on a rather spectacular pity party show of tears and snippy outbursts. It’s EASY right? Might as well just let it all out and lose it on the kids in the backseat.

OR

You could take a second and choose what kind of emotions that come from this gobbledygook of a morning. Could you look back and tell this story with laughter? Then choose laughter now.

When it’s easy to loose it over spilled coffee. Pause and tell your emotions to shut up.

Laugh about it instead.
